Russian Helicopters is close to securing a launch customer for its long-delayed Mi-38 transport helicopter

During a meeting with the Russian Ministry of Defence on 5 December, the possibility of handing over the first Mi-38 production batch (most likely numbering up to five examples) to the Russian Air Force for so-called experimental operations was discussed. The main aim of this experimental operation is to evaluate the effectiveness of the Mi-38's employment in the tactical transport role.
