​Russian Helicopters finalising PSV tests

Russian Helicopters is finishing tests of a new high-speed helicopter that will be designed for speeds up to 405 km/h, according to an official spokesperson at the Russian MoD.

Known as the Promising High-Speed Helicopter (PSV), the helicopter's series production is expected to be in 2019-2020.

Built on the basis of the Mi-24, the new helicopter will be equipped with a unique rotor system designed by the company. The use of the new system significantly reduces the phenomenon of retreating blade stall, increasing the speed of the aircraft while maintaining the traditional helicopter configuration.
