Rotorcraft Asia: Airbus expands Seletar facility

Last month Airbus Helicopters opened a new 'delivery room' at its Seletar facility, with the company's Singaporean base of operations delivering an average of two aircraft per month.

The Seletar hub performs final assembly, customisation, operational maintenance, painting and deliveries for Southeast Asian customers.

Philippe Monteux, head of region for Southeast Asia and Pacific, addressed media at the facility, underlining that Asia-Pacific is an 'important, growing market' for Airbus.

There are already 1,900 rotorcraft operating in Asia, plus nearly 800 in Oceania. The company today has a 40% share of the civil/parapublic fleet.
