RNLAF receives first upgraded Chinook
Boeing announced on 3 April that it has delivered the first of 20 CH-47F Chinook helicopters to the Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF).
The helicopter includes an upgraded cockpit with digital automatic flight controls, a fully-integrated Common Avionics Architecture System (CAAS) glass cockpit and advanced cargo handling capabilities.
The RNLAF already operates a mix of CH-47D and CH-47F models.
Andy Builta, VP of Cargo & Utility Helicopters and H-47 manager at Boeing, said: ‘The RNLAF made it clear to us that they need the advanced, proven capability of the CH-47F now… This is a reminder to us all of how important Chinooks are to our customers.’
The remaining 19 aircraft are due to be delivered into 2021.
Eight NATO member nations currently operate various Chinook models.
