Raytheon Missile Systems and MESKO have signed a Letter of Intent to collaborate and share advanced defence technologies, Raytheon announced on 26 March.

The areas of cooperation focus on Raytheon's solutions for the new Polish Attack Helicopter and KRAB howitzer precision fires, including opportunities and offset proposals for MESKO.

The agreement focuses on the production and future capabilities co-development of Raytheon's Excalibur 155 mm precision projectile and the TALON laser guided rocket. Raytheon and MESKO will also explore potential collaborative opportunities for a next-generation anti-armour weapon and a very short range air defence weapon.

Michelle Lohmeier, vice president, land warfare systems, Raytheon, said: 'This is a tremendous step forward, allowing Raytheon to expand its collaborative relationship with our partners at MESKO and the Polish industrial community, while providing increased capabilities for the Poland land .

'The Letter of Intent serves as a tool for both companies to explore cooperation and mutually beneficial business opportunities, as well as potential exports to third country markets.'

Raytheon and MESKO previously signed a Letter of Intent to cooperate on opportunities related to the air defence architecture of Poland. That agreement covered partnerships in categories such as the Patriot GEM-T missile sub-system production and qualification, GEM-T missile integration, assembly and production and system level integration and engineering.
