RAF Merlin damaged in training exercise

An RAF Merlin has been damaged in a landing accident during pre-deployment training in California.

According to reports, the aircraft rolled over during the early hours of Monday morning while landing at Holtville airfield near El Centro where Merlin aircrews have been carrying out pre-deployment training for operations in Afghanistan.

Twelve people were onboard the aircraft at the time, Rotorhub.com understands one is still in hospital, the rest have been discharged.
