QuadA2012: Bell eyes future V-22 projects

Bell Helicopter is looking at various strategies to ensure current competencies are not lost through a gap in production between its current US military rotorcraft programmes and any Future Vertical Lift (FVL) activity.

With the FVL not expected to reach the engineering and manufacturing development phase until at least 2030, all US rotorcraft OEMs face the prospect of some lean years before the next-generation aircraft start rolling off the production lines.

Bell Helicopter CEO John Garrison said the company was looking at a number of avenues to avoid such a gap in production.
