Quad A 2015: Aviation chief sees ARI cuts as modernisation cornerstone

The ongoing Aviation Restructure Initiative (ARI) is a ‘critical effort’ as organisation are reshaped and equipment modernised.

Speaking at the Quad A exhibition in Nashville, TN, Maj-Gen Mike Lundy, Commander of US Army Aviation Center of Excellence, said that various organisations will be reformed ‘over the next three to four years’.

‘But as for filling them out with the modernised equipment, we’re really not going to get that done until about 2028,’ he cautioned. ‘And I will tell you, if “sequester” [mandatory budget cuts] happens, that date moves well to the right – probably five to six years.’

He added:
