Qatar requests Black Hawk FMS deal

Qatar may be the next customer for the UH-60M Black Hawk, it has emerged.

According to a Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) release on 13 June, the government of Qatar is negotiating a possible foreign military sale (FMS) of 12 UH-60Ms as well as engines and critical mission equipment, including missile warning systems and machine guns.

The deal is potentially worth up to $1.1 billion and follows on from a similar request for MH-60R Seahawks made by the Qatari government in September 2011.
