Poland redrafts Kruk helicopter plan but quantity remains undecided

Poland has again changed its Kruk attack helicopter programme, with a handful of key decisions still to be made before a manufacturer can be selected to produce new aircraft.

The Polish Ministry of National Defence (MND) has reset plans for its long-delayed Kruk attack helicopter programme, reneging on a previous commitment to acquire 32 new aircraft in the process.  

A tender had been expected to commence in 2020 with up to 16 helicopters set to be delivered by 2026 — but no such progress was made and authorities now admit Kruk is currently at an ‘analytical and conceptual’ phase.

‘Initiation of the procedure for procurement will be possible after completion of the conducted analyses, as a result of which recommendations will be developed for further implementation of the task,
