Poland seeks new naval helicopters

The Polish Navy plans to modernise its aviation fleet through the procurement of a series of multirole helicopters, starting a new ‘technical dialogue’ with industry.

The service is looking for a helicopter with a maximum take-off weight no higher than 6.5 tonnes, capable of conducting anti-submarine warfare operations and acquiring enemy targets with the use of onboard radar systems.

The Armament Inspectorate, acting on behalf of the Polish Ministry of Defence (MoD), has launched the technical dialogue procedure, which will lead to the procurement of as many as four to eight new naval helicopters under the long-awaited ‘Kondor’ programme. The
