PGZ, Bell Helicopters to cooperate on UH-1Y
Bell Helicopter and Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa (PGZ) have signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) to cooperate on the UH-1Y Venom for the Polish market, the company announced on 25 July.
This signing is in addition to the LOI signed between the two companies for the AH-1Z in 2016.
The latest LOI will allow PGZ and Bell Helicopter to expand potential areas of cooperation related to Poland’s future utility helicopter needs with the UH-1Y, including production and maintenance work if the helicopter is selected by Poland.
This agreement also identifies the offering of the AH-1Z for Poland's Kruk programme, its programme to acquire attack helicopters.
Rich Harris, VP of international military business for Bell Helicopter, said: ‘Being the newest attack and utility helicopters available on the market, the H-1 programme gives our potential industry partners such as PGZ significant area for cooperation. The AH-1Z and UH-1Y together provide a common strength that offers the most effective and efficient means of accomplishing the missions in Poland.’
