Peru receives three AB-412 helicopters
The Navy of Peru has received three Agusta Bell AB-412 helicopters from the Royal Dutch Navy, the Peru Ministry of Defence announced on 14 April.
The signing ceremony for the contract for transfer of the helicopters was presided over by Jakke Valakivi, Defense Minister of Peru.
The three helicopters are outfitted for medical evacuation and search and rescue operations, and will be used for humanitarian assistance and in missions during natural disasters and emergencies. They complement the navy's BAP Tacna logistical ship.
The Tacna was also acquired from the Dutch navy. During the ceremony, Valakivi recalled the ties between Peru and the Netherlands in the field of defence and expressed hope that the collaboration will continue.
