Patria to support Finnish military aircraft
Patria and the Finnish defence forces have signed a strategic partnership agreement for life cycle support of Finnish military aircraft and related systems, the company said on 6 March.
The partnership agreement 'defines procedures and conditions of decades of cooperation as well as strengthens the strategic cooperation that the parties have agreed to maintain under all circumstances', Patria said in a company statement.
It covers the life cycle support of the defence forces' military aircraft, including the NH90 transport helicopters and F/A-18 Hornet fighters, and related services and systems.
According to Patria, the support concept between the Finnish Air Force and the company is more cost efficient than relying on system suppliers or original equipment manufacturers alone.
The agreement clarifies the roles of the defence forces and Patria, enabling close cooperation for current equipment and future programmes. This frame agreement is in accordance with the guidelines of strategic partnership as defined by the Ministry of Defense and applicable legislation.
