Pakistan orders four Mi-35Ms

Pakistan has inked a contract for four Russian Mil Mi-35M attack-transport helicopters for the Pakistan Army as part of a comprehensive effort to provide better close air support for counterinsurgency missions.

In what could be an eventual order of 20 of the type, the contract was signed in Rawalpindi between representatives of the Pakistani MoD and Rosoboronexport, Russia’s monopolist arms export agency, in mid-August.

However, the details were reportedly finalised in June, during Pakistan Army chief of staff Gen Raheel Sharif’s visit to Russia.
