Nuri cockpit upgrade gets green light
The upgrade of Sikorsky S-61A-4 Nuri helicopters of the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) took a major step forward, as revealed in a Heli-One press release dated 11 October.
Universal Avionics and Heli-One will perform cockpit upgrades on the initial aircraft in Stavanger, Norway, while Airod will perform the same work on the remainder of the fleet that has been operated since the 1960s.
As previously reported by Shephard, Airod signed an MoU with Heli-One on 20 April to pave the way for this life extension project.
