A new wave of production for amphibious helicopters

Russian Helicopters is gearing up for renewed production of the Mi-14 amphibious helicopter 30 years after ending production. 

Production of the new aircraft will be carried out at Kazan Helicopters in Russia – the same site used to produce the rotorcraft from 1973 to 1986, according to a company spokesperson.

‘The modern versions of the Mi-8 is also produced at the Kazan Helicopters site,’ the spokesperson said, ‘Some innovations from the modern-day Mi-8 may be applied if the production of the Mi-14PL was to go ahead.’ 

The company showcased plans for production to begin again at the International Maritime Defence
