Netherlands resumes deliveries of NH90
The Netherlands resumed acceptance of the NH90 NATO Frigate Helicopter (NFH) in December, as the ‘action plan’ developed by NHIndustries to resolve corrosion issues seems to have mitigated the problem.
A significant number of corrosion issues with its NH90 NFH aircraft saw the Netherlands suspend further deliveries in mid-2014 after 13 aircraft had been accepted.
The Dutch National Aerospace Laboratory NLR discovered a total of 92 corrosion occurrences, which were variously classified as being caused by: insufficient corrosion protection; incorrect materials selection; incorrect design; or incorrect manufacturing.
The action plan subsequently developed by NHIndustries included preventative measures allowing current operators
