NAVAIR seeks new V-22 engine

The Pentagon has launched an effort to find a drop-in replacement engine for all variants of the US military’s V-22 Ospreys.

On 26 August, the US Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) issued a request for information (RfI) seeking input from industry on ‘alternate powerplant solutions’ capable of powering all models of the V-22 Osprey operated by the US Marine Corps (USMC) and US Air Force (USAF).
