NAVAIR poised to issue final RfP for presidential helicopter

US Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) has signaled its intent to enter the final phase of a strategy to source a new presidential helicopter. 

In a pre-solicitation notice issued on 18 April, NAVAIR confirmed plans to release a final Request for Proposal (RfP) to conduct a ‘full and open competition’ for the Presidential Helicopter Replacement Programme (VXX). 

The VXX aircraft will replace the existing fleet of ageing VH-3D and VH-60N aircraft currently used to support presidential missions.
