Mexican Navy roaring to go with more Panther deliveries

The Mexican Navy received its seventh and eighth Airbus Helicopters AS565MBe Panther aircraft on 13 November at Naval Air Base Minatitlán, Veracruz.

The aircraft was delivered following acceptance flights and are set to join Naval Air Squadron 622 which has its base in Lázaro Cárdenas, Michoacán. At present, the aircraft are at La Paz, Baja California Sur, where the Navy Day celebrations are set to take place on 23 November.

The new AS565MBe are part of a batch of ten aircraft which were purchased in 2014 to replace the Mexican Naval Aviation’s fleet of shipborne Airbus Bö105CBS-5 helicopters.
