Merlin celebrates ten years in service

The Royal Air Force (RAF) has celebrated ten years of continuous Merlin operations at a ceremony at RAF Benson on 27 September. 

Speaking to journalists at the base, Merlin Force Commander, Grp Capt Nigel Colman, said that over the last decade the Merlin has provided a backbone of support to numerous operations, and played a significant part in ensuring mission success.  

‘The force’s contribution to life saving, force protection, deliberate operations and enabling the dispersal of people and equipment has been simply outstanding,’ said Colman.
