MBDA: major projects on hold pending white paper release

Despite a record year for exports, MBDA faces a series of challenges to the development of its domestic and international projects in 2013, chief executive officer Antoine Bouvier said on 20 March.

At a press briefing in London, Bouvier stated that 2012 was the best year ever for export, due in large part to the company’s contract with India.

‘However, our domestic markets fell short of our expectations, especially in France,’ Bouvier said.

He explained the French government postponed all new weapons programmes in June of last year, commissioning a white paper on defence spending that would critically effect
