Malaysia confirms MD 530G purchase

MD Helicopters (MDHI) is to supply six MD 530G scout attack helicopters to Malaysia’s Ministry of Defence, the company announced on 1 February.

First deliveries to Malaysian Army Aviation (Pasukan Udara Tentera Darat), which is the launch customer for the MD 530G, are expected to begin at the end of the year, with deliveries complete in early 2017.

According to a statement, the helicopters will include a ‘custom weapons package, advanced communications capabilities, and state of the art EO/IR’.
