Strong prospects for Airbus Helicopters Romania

Airbus Helicopters remains confident in the potential of its subsidiary company in Romania, Airbus Helicopters Romania and its sister entity, Airbus Helicopters Industries, which is slated to begin manufacturing new H215 Super Puma and H215M Cougar helicopters by late 2019.

The aim of Airbus Helicopters is to offer these platforms in a baseline configuration open to customisation, to provide customers with a more competitively priced aircraft, which could compete on a more even footing with its competitors, particularly the Russian-made Mi-17 portfolio.

Serge Durand, general manager at Airbus Helicopters Romania and managing director of Airbus Helicopters Industries, told Shephard that
