Lockheed Martin wins UK Apache M-TADS/PNVS work
Lockheed Martin will sustain and support the Modernized Target Acquisition Designation Sight/Pilot Night Vision Sensor (M-TADS/PNVS) system on the UK’s Apache AH Mk-1 fleet until March 2019 under a $60 million contract announced on 6 February.
The contract was awarded by AgustaWestland as part of the company’s overall Integrated Operational Support work for the UK Ministry of Defence.
Lockheed Martin will provide in-country repairs, spares and technical services, as well as integrated logistics, engineering and depot repair support for the M-TADS/PNVS.
The M-TADS/PNVS system provides Apache attack helicopter pilots with long-range, precision engagement and pilotage capabilities for mission success and flight safety in day, night and adverse weather missions.
Mike Taylor, Apache international programs director, Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control, said: ‘Working with AgustaWestland, we developed an M-TADS/PNVS product support strategy designed to optimise system readiness and mission effectiveness. This contract is a cost-effective support solution to ensure supply availability of M-TADS/PNVS on AH Mk-1 Apaches, providing UK soldiers with mission critical situational awareness and targeting accuracy.’
