Lockheed Martin supports ALFS integration on Seahawks
Lockheed Martin is to support integration of Airborne Low Frequency Sonars (ALFS) into MH-60R Seahawk production aircraft for the governments of India and Denmark, the US DoD announced on 2 December.
The company will provide non-recurring engineering and obsolescence services under a $12.35 million FMS modification from US Naval Air Systems Command. It will complete the work by October 2024.
Denmark operates nine MH-60Rs. Shephard Defence Insight notes that the Indian Navy is procuring 24 of the multi-mission helicopters from Lockheed Martin, to replace its fleet of ageing Westland Sea King Mk 42B/C and Kamov Ka-28 helicopters.
