LIMA 2015: Bell aims military and civil helicopters at Malaysia

Bell Helicopter has two static exhibits at LIMA this year – a UH-1Y and a 429 WLG. The former belongs to the United States Marine Corps (USMC), with the service recently having concluded a successful bilateral military exercise in Malaysia.

A Bell spokesperson stated, ‘The Bell UH-1Y represents a giant leap in capability for the USMC with upgrades in intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR), targeting, precision fires, lift and operational reach to support the utility and attack mission spectrum.’

Both the UH-1Y Venom and AH-1Z Viper, as used by the USMC, feature marinised airframes, advanced sensors and corrosion resistance
