Lakota flies while Leonardo spies navy trainer

Further to Leonardo's retreat over litigation procedures the company now turns its focus to opportunities with the US Navy while Airbus Helicopters remains dedicated to its production line for the US Army's Lakota training programme as well as civil versions of the aircraft.

In February this year, Leonardo made it clear that it was discontinuing further legal action regarding a sole contract award to Airbus for its UH-72A Lakota for the US Army training fleet.
