LAAD 2015: Brazilian H225M CSAR variant certification due

Certification of the first operational CSAR variant of the Brazilian Air Force's H225M (H-36) Caracal is expected next month, according to Helibras officials.

Walter Filho, head of the engineering centre at Helibras, a subsidiary of Airbus Helicopters, told Shephard the certification by the Brazilian military will pave the way for the aircraft to be delivered to the Força Aérea Brasileira (FAB) by June.

The Helibras-manufactured CSAR variant was on display for the first time at this year’s LAAD exhibition in Rio de Janeiro.

The CSAR variant features an EO/IR gimbal sensor, a 272kg double hoist, bubble window, automatic emergency floatation
