KBRwyle to support NAWCAD
KBRwyle has received a contract to provide engineering and technical services to the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), KBR announced on 19 March.
Work under the $69.3 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract has a period of performance of 60 months.
The contract will see KBRwyle provide engineering, installation and maintenance services for the Light Airborne Multipurpose System (LAMPS) MK III datalink. The datalink is used by the US Navy to transmit command and control, radar, and acoustic information between H-60 Seahawk helicopters and surface ships. This data provides naval forces with an expanded, real-time picture of the battlespace.
The company will provide full life cycle support to the datalink system, including systems integration, test and evaluation, in-service engineering, logistics, repair and validation, training, lab maintenance and technical management.
The contract also includes support to upgrade NAWCAD’s LAMPS-equipped fleet with the high-speed Ku-band link, which will allow for faster data transfer.
