Russian Helicopters has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with Kazakhstan government organisations for the supply of unspecified helicopter types during the KADEX-2016 defence expo, Rostec announced on 3 June.

The MoUs indicate that Kazakhstan authorities, including the Ministry of Internal Affairs' Committee for Emergency Situations, are interested in acquiring helicopters from the company. Russian Helicopters is ready to supply the units in 2016-2020.

The parties are currently adjusting the details of the quantity and type of helicopters to be supplied along with the delivery schedule.

Alexander Shcherbinin, deputy CEO for marketing and international business development, Russian Helicopters, said: 'Kazakhstan is one of the largest long-time operators of Russian helicopters. Russian-made helicopter fleet in the republic today is about 200 units. We are ready to supply new rotorcraft to our trade partner, including Ka-226Ts, Mi-171A2s and Ansats.

'Due to high performance, reliability and simplicity in operation, as well as a favourable 'price-quality' ratio, our helicopters meet the most stringent requirements of regional customers.'
