Kaman reaches H-60 cockpit delivery milestone
Kaman Aerosystems has reached a new milestone on the H-60 helicopter cockpit programme, having delivered the 1,000th cockpit to Sikorsky for integration into a UH-60M Black Hawk helicopter for the US Army.
Kaman and Sikorsky have worked together on the H-60 cockpit programme for eight years, with Kaman assuming responsibility for manufacture of the cockpits in 2005.
Kaman’s work on the programme sees it manufacture the detail parts, conduct final assembly, and manage the extensive supply chain for three different H-60 cockpit models, L, S, M and other derivatives, including the Medevac, which is derived from the ‘M’ model.
James Larwood, president, Kaman Aerosystems, said: ‘We take great pride in this latest programme milestone for this tactical transport aircraft that is indispensable to our men and women in uniform. We value our long standing relationship with Sikorsky on the H-60 cockpit subcontract programme and look forward to many additional deliveries under our latest five-year agreement, entered into in 2012.’
