Ka-226T production for India moved to Siberia

Russian Helicopters has announced plans to set up a second production line for the Ka-226T at the Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant (U-UAP) in eastern Siberia.

It will be tasked to produce helicopters for India. The main reason for creating the second Ka-226T production line is to complete the government-to-government agreement between Russia and India in time and with quality.

The Ka-226T is currently being built at the production line of the Kumertau Aviation Production Enterprise (KumAPE).

The second line at U-UAP will use some parts and assemblies produced at KumAPE, which will be the sole source to manufacture the rotor
