ITEC 2012: EDA training programme prepares international crews for Afghanistan
An European Defence Agency (EDA) training programme to prepare helicopter crews for the rigours of Afghanistan is now in its fifth course.
The Interim Synthetic Helicopter Training Course (ISHTC) is provided under contract by AgustaWestland at RAF Linton-on-Ouse. Using specially designed facilities at the North Yorkshire base, crews from Belgium, the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary and Sweden have been able to enhance their crew resource management (CRM) skills preparing them for operations in Afghanistan.
