Inzpire completes GECO deliveries for UK MoD for CSAT
Inzpire Limited has completed delivery of its GECO military air mission support system for the UK Ministry of Defence’s (MoD's) Apache, Chinook, Merlin and Bell helicopter fleets, the company announced on 14 December.
Inzpire was awarded the contract to deliver GECO systems in May 2018 as a part of the MoD’s rotary-wing Cockpit Situational Awareness Tool (CSAT) programme. To date, Inzpire has delivered GECO systems and associated operator training for personnel based at Wattisham, Middle Wallop, Odiham, Culdrose, Akrotiri and Brunei.
The CSAT programme aimed to equip Apache, Chinook, Merlin and Bell helicopters with Inzpire’s GECO system to support mitigation of safety risks, such as wire strikes. The use of GECO will also improve situational awareness through the processing and display of mission data and aeronautical information. For Merlin aircraft, GECO also provides a display of data generated by the aircraft’s maritime automatic identification system.
