Indonesian helicopter issues denied by Eurocopter

Technical issues have grounded much of the Indonesian Air Force (TNI-AU) Puma/Super Puma fleet in recent months, it has emerged.

TNI-AU sources told Shephard that electrical problems have kept all but one of six SA330 Puma helicopters from flying while four of five AS332 Super Pumas were currently grounded with two confirmed as having gearbox issues.

However, manufacturer Eurocopter has denied the claims, arguing that the Puma/Super Puma helicopters were currently all either flying or undergoing routine maintenance work.
