IMDEX Asia 2019: Wildcats touch down in Philippines
Two AW159 Wildcat helicopters belonging to the Philippine Navy (PN) arrived on home shores on 7 May, having been delivered via a chartered Antonov An-124 transport aircraft that departed from London-Stansted Airport.
The AW159s arrived in Manila, but they will be transported to Danilo Atienza Air Base in Cavite for reassembly. Subsequently they will be based there as part of Naval Aviation Squadron MH-40 of the Naval Air Group. This squadron already operates AW109E Power helicopters.
