ILA 2016: Airbus Helicopters everyone's friend in Germany

As the competition to replace Germany’s CH-53G helicopters with a new platform heats up, Airbus Helicopters is keeping its options open.

This takes place amid a resurgent market for military helicopters as the commercial sector remains static due to the freeze in the oil and gas sector.

Guillaume Faury, CEO of Airbus Helicopters, said that the company was in discussions with both Boeing and Sikorksy, which are competing for the Heavy Transport (STH) helicopter programme.

He noted that Airbus Helicopters was waiting for detailed requirements to be outlined in the RFP that is due next year.
