IDEX 2017: Armed 429 testing this year

NorthStar Aviation is looking to build on its success supplying armed Bell 407 multirole helicopters (MRH) to the United Arab Emirates by extending its weapon and mission system modifications to the twin-engine 429 model.

Terry Key, senior vice president and chief pilot at NorthStar Aviation told Shephard the armed 429MRH design was 'pretty much done', mainly because it was a case of taking the mission package off the existing 407MRH and migrating it over to the 429.

'We are taking combat-proven equipment and just moving it over,' said Key.

Like the 407MRH, the 429 will be capable of being equipped
