IDEF 2015: L-UMTAS preparing for delivery

The Long-Range Anti-Tank Missile (L-UMTAS) from Roketsan is to be bought by the Turkish Army next year.

At the IDEF exhibition in Istanbul, a spokesperson from the company said that the contract was currently in the development phase and once this was completed it will move into the serial production phase.

‘We plan to sign [the production contract] next year,’ the spokesperson said.

The SMM is currently testing the L-UMTAS system, and Roketsan is working with TAI to integrate the missile onto the T129 ATAK helicopter, which is entering service with the Turkish Army. The system comes in two versions:
