Helitech 2016: Mi-26T2Vs conversions underway for delivery
Development work to militarise the Mi-26T2 heavy lift, originally designed for civil use are underway as part of a delivery programme to the Russian military.
The deliveries are set to begin in 2018, this has been revealed by Vladislav Savelev, director at Russian Helicopters, responsible for government deliveries and military-technical cooperation.
He confirmed that the development works on militarising the civil Mi-26T2 facelift are in full swing. The military derivative is slated to receive a new flight/navigation system and a new self-protection system.
