HeliRussia 2016: Mi-26 set for re-engining

Russia’s United Engine Co, the holding company controlling all aero engine developers and manufacturers in the country, has announced at the HeliRussia exhibition that it plans to launch a programme this year for re-engining the Mi-26T/T2 heavylift helicopter.

The company proposes the PD-12V rated at 11,400shp in OEI situations – it will have the same size and weight as the currently used D-136 turboshaft produced by Motor Sich of Ukraine.
