Helicopter delays cause Indian Navy anxiety

As the Indian Navy (IN) tackles cost-effectiveness, timely deliveries and upgraded technologies, delays in resolving the Multi-Role Helicopter (MRH) contract for 16 Sikorsky S-70Bs may result in the navy exercising an option for eight extras, a senior official told Shephard.

‘The validity of the quote has expired and we are looking at how to take this forward,’ confirmed Adm Sunil Lanba, chief of navy staff, to Shephard on the sidelines of a seminar in Delhi.
