Heli-Expo 2017: New TrakkaBeam orders
Trakka Systems has announced two new customers for its TrakkaBeam A800 tactical searchlight: the Italian Navy and the German DRF Luftrettung air rescue service.
The Italian Navy has selected the searchlight for its 12 AW101 multi-mission helicopters; while the DRF will fit the searchlight on its H145 rescue helicopters.
The A800 gives extended night time mission capabilities for a range of mission profiles. The searchlight has a uniform beam and an internally integrated filter wheel that allows for the installation of a range of filters including infrared, near red, amber and white light.
Fabio Presicce, VP business development Europe of Trakka Systems, said: 'We are extremely pleased that the TrakkaBeam has yet again been chosen for a key international search and rescue programme, and in particular for this opportunity, as Italian Navy are the premier SAR customer for the very capable AW101 from Leonardo Helicopters division.
'Trakka looks forward to supporting the Italian Navy in their important operations, both military and humanitarian, in particular with the current Mediterranean migrant crisis.'
