HAL, BEL sign airborne comms MoU
Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop airborne communication equipment for defence applications, it was announced on 5 June.
The two firms will share their manufacturing, engineering, development and design expertise to develop and produce the equipment. The MoU will be reviewed every quarter, with the research and development directors of both firms chairing the review.
BEL’s expertise lies in communications and secrecy products and solutions, while HAL has expertise in airborne communications equipment.
The MoU defines the roles and responsibilities of HAL and BEL for developing specific airborne communication equipment.
