H215 delivered to Spanish Air Force

Less than four months after purchase negotiations, Airbus Helicopters has delivered a H215 to the Spanish Air Force.

The aircraft will be used for SAR missions. The H215, which will be based in Gran Canaria, will be conducting missions as soon as the platform has been received, which is anticipated to be before the end of the year.

Due to the crew of 802 Squadron/RCC Canarias being experienced in flying other models of the Super Puma, they will undertake only a short training programme. Currently, the air force operates military and civil versions from the Super Puma family.
