The first CH-47F Chinook fitted with an improved vibration control system (IVCS) has rolled off the Boeing production line in Pennsylvania.

Supplier Lord Corporation confirmed during a media briefing in London on 12 May that the first IVCS-equipped Chinook had been completed only a week ago.

‘Every CH-47F that comes out of the Boeing production line will now have our active vibration control system,’ said Rachid Bendali, director of global business development at Lord Corporation.

Bendali explained that Lord’s active system will completely replace the Chinook’s existing passive system, which was ‘extremely heavy’ and was located just below the pilot.
