German heavy-lift tender under scrutiny

The German Federal Ministry of Defence (MoD) has insisted that its heavy-lift helicopter tender schedule remains unchanged, despite reports that the programme could be delayed due to funding issues.

An RfP had been expected to be issued this summer and previously 2017 had even been suggested as a likely timeframe for industry to be formally consulted. 

In a statement to Shephard a German MoD spokesperson dismissed the idea of the programme suffering from a delay saying that 'any steps in between' the replacement of its Sikorsky CH-53G fleet between now and 2025, 'are not necessarily tied to a fixed timing'.
