German agreement with Airbus Helicopters gets green light

The German parliament has approved a new framework agreement between the Bundeswehr and helicopter manufacturer Airbus Helicopters. 

Details of the planned revision of the number of NH90 and Tiger helicopters on order for the German military under the so-called German Deal became apparent late last year.

Under the new scheme given the green light on 4 March, the German military will receive a total of 82 NH90 TTHs – down from 122 aircraft that were previously envisaged. 

Final deliveries of TTH aircraft for the German army are planned for 2021. The army air corps will operate a total of 80
